Eligibility

Are there any prerequisites or certifications required for entry into this programme?
There are no certifications required, as long as you are a graduating student or recent alumni with Special Educational Needs (SEN) from a local Polytechnic. However, those with digital skill sets will be prioritised.
What types of Special Educational Needs (SEN) will be considered for this programme?
For the March 2023 Talent Accelerator Programme, we are open to the following disability types: visual impairment, physical disabilities, hearing loss, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity (ADHD) & Dyslexia. To ensure that you can benefit meaningfully from this programme, conversations on accessibility needs will be conducted.
Will I be admitted into the programme if I am enrolling in university or enlisting for National Service?
Yes, you may apply as long as you are able to commit to the programme hours. Do indicate details of your university enrolment or National Service enlistment in the application form, if any.
I am currently a 2nd year student at Polytechnic. Am I eligible for this programme?
You may apply, but the priority will be given to the graduating batch.
I am beginning a full-time job/traineeship in July. Can I apply for this programme?
You may apply, but the priority will be given to those who are actively looking for jobs of the future.
I'm currently employed, but I’m intending to quit soon. Can I still apply for this programme?
You may apply but joining the TomoWork Talent Accelerator Programme cannot be the reason why you are going to leave your job.
I am an alumni with Special Educational Needs (SEN) that is no longer studying in Polytechnic. Am I eligible for this programme?
If you are an alumni with SEN & actively seeking a job of the future, you may apply, although priority may be given to graduating students
Am I eligible for this programme if I do not have any Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
The TomoWork Talent Accelerator Programme is only open to graduating students and recent alumni with SEN from local Polytechnics.
I am not a Polytechnic student but have Special Educational Needs (SEN). Can I apply for this programme?
The March 2023 Talent Explorer Programme is exclusively for graduating students and recent alumni with SEN from local Polytechnics. However, please get in touch with our staff at enquiry@tomowork.org to indicate your interest.
Would being active in Co-Curricular Activities (CCA), community work, or being an athlete be considered a plus point in applicants?
Any experience in CCA, community volunteering, sports, or leadership activities will be considered a plus.

Attendance

Is there a minimum attendance requirement for the programme?
Yes, all participants are expected to attend at least 90% of the sessions in the programme curriculum.
What does the daily schedule look like?
This programme runs for 12 weeks at Republic Polytechnic, with a five-day weekday schedule from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
Can I choose to attend on specific days of the week?
Any absences must be supported by a valid reason & documentation. All participants are expected to attend at least 90% of the sessions in the programme curriculum. Please do consult us if you already have other planned commitments.
Can I be absent due to a medical appointment?
Yes, please let us know in advance if you are going to be absent. You should also provide us with documentation of your medical appointment.
Who should I contact if I need to apply for leave?
We will share the contact of relevant parties at the beginning of the programme.
Can I withdraw from the programme midway?
We would like to avoid such situations and consider withdrawals on a case-by-case basis. Please do inform us if you have conflicting planned commitments.
Can I only participate in this programme remotely due to my mobility issues?
Please consult our staff for a further discussion.
Will there be any days off aside from weekends & public holidays?
There will be no extra holidays.

Corporate Projects

Can I choose the corporate project that I will be working on?
No, the corporate projects will be allocated according to your background, strengths & the project requirements.
Can I choose my own team members for the corporate project?
No, the corporate project teams will be formed according to individual background, strengths & skill sets that are required for the project.
Can I change the project in the middle of the programme?
We would like to avoid such situations and consider team members change on a case-by-case basis.
Will I get assigned to a single role or multiple roles during the programme?
We will assign you into suitable projects matching your background, strengths & the project requirements. You will be involved in one project for the entire duration of the programme.

Self-Paced Learning

Will the learning be conducted physically or remotely?
The learning for the digital certifications will all be conducted virtually. There will be a guide at the start of the programme on how to access the materials and use it for your individual learning.
Can I get help with my learning in person?
Online learning is designed in a way for individuals to learn. However, if you need assistance, we will be happy to help you.
Would a certificate of completion be provided?
Yes. Upon completion of the programme, you will receive a physical certificate of completion for the TomoWork Talent Accelerator Programme & digital certification of completions from your completed learning pathways by the respective certificate awarding body.

Employment

Will I be guaranteed a job after graduating from the programme?
There is no guarantee of a job after the programme. However, we are determined to help you in many ways, such as hosting networking sessions with corporates, building your LinkedIn profile and CV, preparing you for interviews, etc.
What are the employment opportunities available after I graduate?
We will be inviting more than 10 companies to participate in the in the TomoWork Talent Accelerator Programme. We will also circulate your profiles to interested corporate partners.

Others

Will meals be provided?
Participants are to make their own meal arrangements. The campus canteen will be open. Occasionally, we may cater a simple lunch.
Do I need a laptop for the programme?
Yes. A personal laptop with a webcam is required for the programme. Should you need assistance in securing one, please approach the programme coordinator & we will try our best to loan you one for the duration of the programme.
Will I be paid an allowance for the programme?
Upon successful completion of the whole programme, you will be provided a stipend of SGD $1,200.
Will I be required to pay any fees for this programme?
No, there are no fees involved in this programme. The learning pathways are sponsored in entirety.
