TomoWork x Insights

Building collaborative skills with colleagues & accepting feedback at the workplace could be challenging for fresh graduates. Through this workshop with Ms Yvonne Huang from Insights & Ms Padmashree Santosh from Dyson, TomoWork hopes that recent graduates of the TomoWork Talent Accelerator Programme could untangle the different communication preferences with opposing personalities & showcase how their strengths could improve the team synergy. By striving for continuous self-improvement, our graduates will equip themselves with the right skills to thrive in their careers!

Ask Me Anything!

Demo Day may mark the finale of the TomoWork Talent Accelerator Programme, but it’s just the beginning of an exciting career journey for our talented participants. While the programme has been focused on guiding participants through the transition from school to work, it is also about respect, mutual support & patience. In fact, the past 11 weeks have been filled with many fun & memorable experiences where everyone was free to embrace their authentic selves.

Wondering what’s the biggest challenge our participants face as persons with disabilities? What are their views on the skills everyone should have? In this video, hear six amazing participants share their thoughts & experiences with TomoWork!

Special thanks to our special guests:

  • Mr Desmond Lee, Minister for Social & Family Development and Second Minister for National Development
  • Mr Richard Magnus, Chairman of the Public Transport Council & Temasek Foundation Cares

Yay! It's Monday with TomoWork!

In May 2020, TomoWork presented our first inclusive virtual engagement activity “Yay! It’s Monday with TomoWork!” for members & partners. The COVID-19 outbreak limited our ability to present physical events but during the Circuit Breaker period in Singapore, the TomoWork team saw an opportunity to help our community build new habits that benefit the future of work & strengthen personal resilience.

We hosted 20 players with & without disabilities over a week to complete a series of tasks focused on personal & professional development, inclusive entertainment & wellness. We were heartened to see strong participation & to hear how this activity helped start the week on the right note.

Our special guests also offered strong words of encouragement. They urged our TomoWork members to stay connected, remain positive & embrace constant learning & development during these challenging times.

TomoWork Batch 2 (January - March 2020)

TomoWork is founded on the philosophy of empowering People with Disabilities & contributing towards their gainful employment. The support of our partners has been invaluable in extending meaningful opportunities to develop our TomoWork members, both through learning sessions & exciting corporate projects. By doing so, employers would be able to recognise the true capabilities of PWDs. Hear more about what our key partners – Johnson & Johnson, KPC International & *SCAPE had to say about TomoWork!

“We are constantly inspired by the creative ways that TomoWork is bringing communities together to push the boundaries for people with disabilities.”

TomoWork Batch 1 (September 2019)

An initiative launched in Singapore in September 2019, TomoWork was initially a two-week pilot to design a co-working space accessible for persons with disabilities. During this time, we worked with 15 persons with disabilities to develop a greater understanding of the disability landscape in Singapore, including the challenges seeking gainful employment. See what we got up to!
