We deliver high-impact programmes to empower communities and leverage diversity in the workplace.

Having a diverse workforce is now a business necessity, but unlocking the hidden potential of such a workforce has its challenges. By empowering Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and Students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to fully demonstrate their skills, TomoWork aims to bring the differently-abled community, private and public sectors together to tackle these challenges.

Launch of FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND Education Award in Singapore for Students with Special Educational Needs by TomoWork

Singapore, 30 May 2023 – TomoWork, a non-profit organisation and Charity in Singapore, has announced the launch of the Talent Uplift Programme (TUP), the Education Award for Students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) designed to support those who come from lower income families and are pursuing their academic goals in a public or private institute of higher learning in Singapore. This is the first of its kind Education Award in Singapore, which encourages students with SEN to pursue their studies, without it being based on their academic performance.

Every year, TomoWork will provide an Education Award of $4,000 to a maximum of 10 students with SEN. Recipients will also gain opportunities to organise TomoWork’s volunteering activities as well as receive mentorship and career guidance. Past recipients are welcome to reapply every year.

New $4,000 study grant for students with special educational needs

Benedict Lim, Our 2022 Talent Accelerator Programme (TAP) graduate, embodies the resilience and determination of individuals striving to overcome financial challenges by working part-time as a delivery rider. As a student whose hearing aid is aging, he now faces additional hurdles but his dedication to excel academically never wavered.

The Talent Uplift Programme allows students like Benedict to fully concentrate on their studies and better pursue their dream careers by securing the necessary additional financial support. Through the grant, Benedict can cover the remaining balance of his annual tuition fees after Community Bursary and obtain a new hearing aid, significantly reducing the financial burden on both himself and his family. Likewise, Tayson Tay, our 2023 TAP graduate, shares the aspiration for a stronger financial safety net.
